What’s Your Story? is a project dedicated to getting us all talking again and when i say talking i don’t just mean about the weather. I mean really talking, talking about the awkward stuff, the messy stuff, the emotive stuff. I want us to be able to hold space for one another in order that we might bridge some of the gaps in society as there is far more that unites us than divides.
There is one thing for certain in this world and that is, that we have all been given a life and like it or not, we have all been presented with a choice of what to do with it. I believe that everyone has a special gift, something valuable to share. I believe it to be our task in life to uncover those gifts and then our duty to share those gifts with others.
This film is dedicated to anyone who has yet to find out what their gift is.

Kate and Alan Burrows have owned their 8.5 acre piece of Devon countryside for 9 years now, and during that time it has always been their dream to live simply on and with the land and wildlife. Living a low impact off grid lifestyle. Using permaculture practices to grow a small holding. One year ago they were forced to leave our house in Somerset, and so with no option they decided that this was time to start our their new life on the land.
They moved all of their belongings into a small caravan down to the field and set up camp. Small but cosy but within 3 months of being on the site the local planning enforcement officer was here demanding that we leave within the next 6 weeks.
So they decided to build a roundhouse instead, despite what the authorities have said.

Hoppi and Tao live at Lammas Eco Village in Wales and their story is a truly magical one. Tao then Paul was living like stig of the dump, in a tee pee with string keeping his homemade poncho down while Hoppi was living in normal life as a therapist but though them coming together, through two worlds meeting Lammas has been created.
The Lammas project has been created to pioneer an alternative model for living on the land. It empowers people to explore what it is to live a one-planet lifestyle. It demonstrates that alternatives are possible here and now.
The project actively supports aspiring low-impact projects in Wales through providing guidance and resources as well as supporting independent academic studies.

Once upon a time, there was an artist, a storyteller and a 1960’s Bedford RL lorry… They lived in troubled times – sometimes it seemed like the magic had all run out of the world and all that was left was trouble and distraction. So they decided to make something amazing, a device for spreading beauty and imagination, a spectacular creation to reignite the old enchantments hiding at the edges of things, and bring wonder back into the greying world. And so, they created HEDGESPOKEN… A vehicle for the imagination!
With its drop-down stage, fancy awning and proscenium arch, Hedgespoken will serve as a stage wherever it goes. Whether it’s Tom and Rima telling tales and making mischief with handmade puppet shows, or it’s other actors, musicians or sword-swallowers using the stage-space as part of the Hedgespoken travelling show, our aim is to spread a little old magic by doing what we love. Hedgespoken has the wherewithal to act as a mini-theatre, a cabaret stage or acoustic music venue, anywhere. Perhaps your village green, or that disused urban space, wayside or park – Hedgespoken arrives, makes magic, plants seeds of imagination, and then leaves, in the tradition of wandering bards, travelling storytellers and itinerant puppet theatres and circuses that are so much part of our heritage.

Off Grid Festival is visualized as a deep exploration of community living, creativity and consciousness; an intimate environment in which to share skills, trade knowledge, impart wisdom and make a difference. Four days out of the world to get into changing our world. We think of it as an experimental innovation lab for a new paradigm of economic, ecological and community thought, a radical gathering of empowered people making a difference in their lives and celebrating emergent culture.
Over the years the festival has educated and informed thousands of people about the skills and knowledge required for a low-impact ‘off-grid’ lifestyle. This is done via our unique Off Grid College – a 12 module programme in practical, sustainable living; Our Conference Programme – 3 days of mini-conferences on topical themes; Practical Demonstrations of Eco-Build, Alt. Tech, Wildcraft and traditional Crafts and Skills; Off Grid Inside – Where we explore the inner dimension of off grid living and the systemic tools that help us co-exist as a society.
